每当我看到那美丽的教宗的时候，我就不禁地问自己：是什么让他这样与众不同，教宗和其他普通人的区别究竟在哪里？真的是因为他离神更近么？真的是因为他比别人的信仰更强么？

教宗非常清楚我们普通人最根本的弱点就是每个人都把希望寄托在外在的神秘事物上：其他的人，新的地方，新的想法，新的电影等等。越神秘，我们就越容易相信这些事物的力量。越了解，我们就越对其没有相信。所以，很少我们会把希望真正寄托在自己身上。相信别人永远都比相信自己要容易许多。我们宁可相信别人能有超能力，也不愿意相信自己有驾驭自己命运的能力。这就是为什么教宗不让别人看到自己的面容。让大家的想象力把自己带到神坛上。

所以，我们要对自己有信念，这才是真正的信念。对其他个体的信念，那都是迷信和单相思。

奇迹其实就在我们自己身上，而我们这一生都在错误的别处寻找。

We have forgotten to masturbate, to use contraceptives，to get abortions, to celebrate gay marriages, to allow priests to love each other and even to get married.

我们还忘记自慰，忘记避孕，忘记堕胎，忘记庆祝同性婚姻，忘记允许神父相爱甚至结婚。

We have forgotten that we can decide to die if you detest living.

我们还忘记了如果我们活腻了可以决定死去

We have forgotten to have sexual relations for purposes other than procreation without feeling guilty.

我们忘记了不以生育为目的不知羞愧的性关系。
